Whiplash

This was such an invigorating and stirring movie. The whole film is driven by blood sweat tears and passion. Watching made me want to find my own passion and pursue it like the character Andrew. His road to greatness is constantly being undermined and challenged but there is always his underlying strength pulling him forward... the last drum scene is so powerful and quite frankly amazing. Miles Teller= king.

Into the wild...

Today I was thinking about how disconnected from friends, school, possessions I am. I feel like the time I have at school is impermanent, it will just keep on flowing by and then one day I will end up in a beautiful place where there aren't any people. I have always been overwhelmed by the thought of escaping and being an adventurer. I want to drift away on a raft to the land Where the Wild Things Are. It will be like a scene from Into the Wild, I will be completely empty and calm inside. The distance I feel now will be a physical reality. I want to write about it, explain everything I see as scientifically and metaphorically as I can. Draw it, document it.

Elle Fanning Eating Disorder Video

LA Based cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto has created a short film staring the extremely talented Elle Fanning which deals with eating disorders. It's very strong, disturbing metaphorical imagery. We are guided through a party full of models who all seem drugged and/or extremely skinny then we see Elle in a bathroom applying mascara. You have to watch to find out the rest... warning it is a distressing video.
